week 4: Vases [updated]

For our next project, we are modelling some vases/vessels to 3D print. In order to make these possible to print, there are certain parameters that have to be followed. Like the size of the object or the overhang of the slopes/planes.
Some of the vases I made are more realistic in their design, while others were "mistakes" with some interesting silhouettes. I say mistakes because when the rail was put in place, it was done in a way that the software couldn't properly make the vase shape, so it exploded, for a lack of a better term. Hence the "vase" on the right in the top picture.
It was interesting to see how to form the different silhouettes and structures of the objects with the loft and rail functions. Seeing how the program would combine all of the different 2D lines/shapes into a 3D form and how that form will look in real life.
